The Young Composers Project (YCP) hosted by the composition departmental at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is a tailored programme for a small group of young music creators (aged 14-18) of all musical styles to come together to form a supportive community over 5 FREE workshops to develop new music, finishing in a showcase to celebrate everyone’s progress.

We encourage music creators from all styles and musical backgrounds, whether you are into bedroom producing, songwriting, film music, composing for acoustic instruments, improvising, or anything else! You will get to work with a range of musicians to try out new ideas and will be paired up with a mentor studying at the conservatoire to help you develop.
