Sing for Pleasure 60yrs Conference

Sat 23 Nov

Sing for Pleasure has championed the transformative power of the human voice ever since it was founded. To celebrate our 60th anniversary this year, and to reflect our long-standing role in the choral music world, we’re hosting a national singing conference on Saturday 23 November in Manchester.

Taking place at the prestigious Stoller Hall, ‘Shaping the Choral Future’ has something for everyone. We’re looking forward to welcoming delegates to an exciting, thought-provoking and impactful day exploring the role of choirs and singing in society today.

Who is the conference for?

  • Choral conductors and choir leaders at all stages of their careers
  • Teachers and educators from early years to adult education
  • Practitioners working in a health context
  • Singers (choir members, professional singers – all welcome!)
  • policy makers and stakeholders

Featuring keynote addresses, discussion panels and practical workshops, we’ll be covering topics including health/social prescribing, EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion), singing in schools, community singing, arranging and repertoire. Plus there’ll be lots of singing! Our outstanding line-up of workshops leaders, speakers and panellists is made up of diverse and influential figures from across the Arts sector.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate six decades at the heart of choral music making in the UK. We look forward to welcoming you to Manchester.
