WYMS is our annual music competition for young soloist who live or attend school within the Walsall area. This year’s competition will be split up into two categories:
Walsall Young Music Star (Secondary)
Walsall Up and Coming Young Music Star (Primary - grade 3 and below)
Applicants enter the heats with a piece of music in any style or genre, but limited to a maximum length of 3'30". These are all judged by specialist adjudicators who give feedback and select the finalists. The Heats this year are to be held live at Walsall Arena and Arts Centre on Tuesday 27th February (and Wednesday 28th February, if needed). If any candidate cannot make the live dates, online entries will still be accepted.
Our live final will be held on Thursday 21st March 2024 at 7:00pm in the A1 auditorium at Walsall Arena and Arts Centre.
Entries for this year’s competition OPEN 4th September and will close on Wednesday 7th February.
